Churchyard Memorials

20230505_124018.jpg

The churchyards of St Peter's are places of gentle, natural beauty which befits their standing as the last resting place for many people over the centuries.

In 1985, an extensive survey was undertaken on both the North and South churchyards at St Peter's.

All memorial stones/ledgers were logged and a list of the names on each of the memorial stones/ledgers (that were still readable/decipherable) was catalogued.

It needs to be noted that numerous people were buried in each of the churchyards without any memorial stone - sadly, this means this index is not a complete register of all burials which have taken place at St Peter's.

There is a statutory fee required for a search of our archives.

(This fee is regulated by the Church of England)

Memorial or Burial Register Searches (including any extra information if found)

are charged at £37 per hour (the maximum duration of initial search)
