Wednesday Welcome

Wednesday Welcome started on 12th April 2023 - inspired by St Peter’s participation in the

National ‘Warm Welcome’ during Jan/Feb of that year, although the day was changed to a Wednesday

to align with post Eucharist service time.

A team of volunteers were found to take turns each week to host the sessions, all of us offering a warm welcome to everyone who chose to visit St Peter’s that day between 10am-12pm.  

 

And so, the national Warm Welcome campaign became our own Wednesday Welcome

which has evolved into a fantastic combination of:

​

• social interaction for everyone who volunteers and visits

• opportunities to look around the church and churchyards at your own leisure

• find out more about various local events and catch up on community news

• make new friends whilst you also enjoy a cuppa along with other goodies on offer

​

Wednesday Welcome is part of the outreach of St Peter's.

​

It is a service we provide for free, there is no price on the various refreshments

and goodies.

We welcome financial donations but only that you give if you

are able and give whatever you'd like.

All donations that we receive each week are much appreciated, 

and help us to keep going as a service and a church - so, huge thanks to everyone

who has contributed over the last couple of years, it really does make a difference.

 

In early 2025, we registered with the Warm Welcome Spaces campaign

and are listed on their website as a local place to find warmth and company.
