About Us

St Peter's Church
The village of Burnham has a long history, it is listed in the Domesday Survey of 1086.
St. Peter’s Church is a Grade 2* listed building situated close to the centre of the village.

It has played an important part in local history for well over a thousand years.
The present building was built on the site of an earlier church a little over eight hundred years ago.

St. Peter’s is a very beautiful building and attracts a large number of families who use it for weddings, baptisms and funerals.

This gives us many opportunities to touch their lives through Christ.

Several regular members of our church family had their first contact when they came to be married or have a child baptised.

Our new vicar - Revd Josh Cleaver - came to us in March 2025 and the church was filled with people and a spirit of welcome - we look forward during this new season to seeing many people come to St Peter's to enjoy our amazing church and all that it has to bring to their lives, with the love of God.

Cornerstone
Cornerstone is the extension that was added to St Peter's Church in 1986. It comprises the parish Office, two halls with a movable partition to create a single larger space, a well equipped kitchen with serving hatches. Our facilities also include two accessible lavatories with a baby changing station.

The area is used by church groups and for PCC meetings, post service refreshment, various social events and is often used by local community groups.

Cornerstone is available to hire for special occasions, events, parties of many kinds, and ongoing bookings for clubs, groups, guilds and various organisations looking for a regular place to hold their classes, courses, meetings.

Cornerstone is open on Wednesday mornings 10am - 12pm for Wednesday Welcome, where everyone can come in to have a chat and enjoy some refreshments. Part of the Warm Welcome Spaces campaign, we commit to offering a place to be social, meet people, stay warm, and feel welcome.

The church itself can be accessed via Cornerstone during our weekday opening hours, if you'd like to tour the church and take a quiet moment for yourself, say a prayer, and light a candle.

Next year - 2026 - St Peter's will be marking 40 years of Cornerstone with various special events
and lots of celebrations are planned.
